Phillips Collection Offers Onsite Electric Vehicle Charging Stations

The Phillips Collection has installed free to the public vehicle charging stations at its High Point, N.C., facility just off Interstate 85 Business.
For Mark Phillips, the switch to an electric car was a revelation.
The president and CEO of Phillips Collection, a High Point furniture business, he now drives a Tesla, which is powered by an electric motor that does not use gasoline.
“I absolutely fell in love with the concept. I loved my gas bill going from $95 to $5 for electric, and I love the driving experience and the fact that it’s pollution-free,” Phillips said.
Phillips has become such a fan of the car and the environmentally-friendly initiatives it represents that his company recently installed free charging stations for electric vehicles that are open to the public.
In its parking lot at 916 Finch Ave., off of Surrett Drive near Interstate 85 Business Loop, the company offers one charging station for Teslas and two connectors that can charge electric vehicles like the Chevy Volt and Nissan Leaf.
The stations are available to the public at no charge, 24-hours-a-day.
