Wayfair Boosts Planned Headquarters Space

Online home furnishings retailer Wayfair is adding 170,000 square feet to its planned Boston headquarters.
The retailer will relocate its offices to Copley Place, which will then take the company's total footprint to 275,000 square feet.
The plans changed somewhat from the company's original set lease of 105,000 square feet. Wayfair's growth and expansion requires additional square footage to accommodate its Boston-based employees in a headquarters relocation to take place in June. The new space is roughly three times the size of the company's current headquarters and provides further expansion options to accommodate continued growth.
"With more than 1,600 employees, Wayfair is quickly becoming one of the largest employers in Boston," said Niraj Shah, CEO and co-founder of Wayfair. "We are proud of our Boston roots and believe our location in the Back Bay is optimal for attracting and retaining top talent. We are excited to expand our footprint in the city of Boston and look forward to our move later this year."
