Ikea Looks to Build Budget Hotel

Home furnishings retailer Ikea is moving forward with its plans to build a line of budget hotels throughout Europe.

Swedish furniture retailer Ikea have announced plans to build a chain of budget hotels, including one at the heart of a stalled development in Liverpool.

While we can be fairly certain guests won't have to assemble their beds themselves, the flat-pack retailers haven't said whether their famous meatballs will be on the room service menu.

The company has gone into business with hotel chain Marriott International to launch a new global brand called Moxy Hotels.

A Marriott spokesperson told the Liverpool Echo a Moxy Hotel in the city's multi-million pound Central Village development.
