Heritage Home Group to Shutter 3 Factories

Heritage Home Group, the new owner of the former Furniture Brands International companies, plans to shutter two factories in Thomasville, N.C., and another one in Saltillo, Miss., as part of its restructuring.

The company plans to slash 480 jobs in Mississippi at the Lane Furniture factory by March 21, the same date the company plans to wind down operations at the Thomasville Furniture factories in North Carolina. Eighty-four employees will lose their jobs as the company consolidates operations in factories in the Hickory and Lenoir areas.

Heritage Home was formed late last year after KPS Capital Partners acquired the assets of former Furniture Brands for $280 million during bankruptcy proceedings.
