Peggy Traub Dies

Co-founder of lighting company Adesso Peggy Traub has died following a long battle with cancer. She was 55.
Traub was also a co-founder of WithIt in 1997.
In 1994, Traub started Adesso with business partner, Lee Schaak, and built a company in lighting and ready-to-assemble furniture. In addition to being a recognized industry leader, she was strong believer in the power and benefits of networking.
She was a member of the Women Presidents’ Organization, the Women’s Leadership Board at Harvard’s Kennedy School of Government, the Committee of 200 and the advisory board of KIDS (Kids in Distressed Situations).
Traub earned a BA from Harvard University and lived in Brooklyn Heights with her partner Phyllis Dicker. Together, the couple has sponsored the Traub-Dicker Rainbow Scholarship for several years, which awards annual scholarship funds to college students.
Funeral services will be held this afternoon at 2:00 p.m., Plaza Jewish Memorial Chapel, 630 Amsterdam Avenue at 91st Street, New York, N.Y., 10024.
