Longtime Rep Ed Vosburgh Dies

Longtime furniture representative Ed Vosburgh Jr. died Dec. 30 at his home in Blowing Rock, N.C. He was 87.
A longtime member of IHFRA and VCHFRA, Vosburgh was employed with his father in 1956 in the wholesale furniture industry, where he spent most of his career, becoming a well-regarded manufacturer’s representative for Clayton Marcus Furniture Co.
For many years, he had the pleasure of presenting the "E.B. Vosburgh Sr. Outstanding Salesman of the Year Award,” which was selected by the Southern Home Furnishing’s Club, and awarded annually at the High Point Furniture Market. He was honored as the recipient of this award in 1980. In 1986 he was recognized as Salesman of the Year by Clayton Marcus . He was Past-President of the Virginia-Carolinas Wholesale Furniture Association; and a member of the International Home Furniture Representative Association. He traveled the Carolinas until his retirement in 1997.
Vosburgh's family requests that, in lieu of flowers, memorials be made to: MediHome Hospice of Watauga County; the Appalachian State University Belk Library; or Rumple Memorial Presbyterian Church of Blowing Rock.
