Martin Home Furnishings Names King VP

Furniture industry veteran David King has joined case goods vendor Martin Home Furnishings as vice president of sales and marketing.

King most recently was vice president of sales and marketing at Sitcom Furniture(http://www.sitcomfurniture.com/), where he work since July 2004. Earlier, he held the vice president of sales position at Hamilton Spill(http://www.hamiltonspill.com/). 

At Martin he reports to President Ed Andrew and will be responsible for developing sales and marketing strategies for the company's three brands; kathy ireland Home by Martin, Martin Home Furnishings and Curt Christian by Martin.

"We are thrilled to have David join the Martin team," said CEO Gil Martin. "He is well regarded in the industry and has a great understanding of the retail marketplace as well as proven design skills. His depth and breadth of experience will be invaluable to us as we strive to continue growing sales in our office, entertainment and bedroom categories."

The segment on GoodWeave's innovative market-based solution to child slavery also will be shown on World Business Today at 9 a.m., and subsequently aired on other shows throughout the day.
