Craftmaster Launches New Web Site

By Home Furnishings Business in Internet on October 12, 2011

Craftmaster Furniture has launched a new Web site with an updated format and new graphics making it more user friendly for both consumers and dealers.

"I am excited to unveil our latest version of the company's Web site which has been in the works for about six months now," said Roy Calcagne, president and CEO of Craftmaster, Taylorsville, N.C. "It is in keeping with our company's direction of offering fashionable yet affordable upholstered products with the end consumer in mind. The home page highlights our custom order capability along with our successful branded product lines of Paula Deen and Better Homes & Garden collections."

The new site features Micros D's ePiphany2 platform, which makes the draping of fabrics to frame much faster and easier to use.

€œWe have been impressed with what Micro D has achieved on their new ePiphany2 platform," said Craftmaster IT Director James Thomson. "The updated site takes advantage of all these new features like dealer locator utilizing Google Maps, improved fabric search with over 1,000 choices, zoom functionality when customizing products and improved web analytics. This new Web site keeps Craftmaster up to date with a more dynamic and functional on line presence. Our goal continues to keep up with the changing technology and improving our customer€™s shopping experience."

Craftmaster is a subsidiary of Samson Holdings along with the case goods companies Universal Furniture and Legacy Classic Furniture.

Sphinx Inks Deal with IMC

By Home Furnishings Business in Rugs on October 12, 2011

The rug manufacturer Sphinx by Oriental Weavers inked deals with International Market Centers for a new High Point Furniture Market showroom, and renewing its World Market Center Las Vegas space.

This deal marks the first of many expected dual-market lease arrangements under International Market Centers' new corporate platform, which has brought together 11.5 million square feet of showroom space in High Point and Las Vegas under one unified organization.

"Both the High Point and Las Vegas markets attract customers from all across the U.S., but many of them either attend one market or the other", said Aaron Gray, marketing director of Sphinx by Oriental Weavers. "High Point is a critical national market and our new IHFC showroom gives us a premium location for our customers to shop. Many of our furniture-based customers and national accounts also make major buying decisions at the Las Vegas Market, as well as some of the furniture buying groups we sell have showrooms at World Market Center.  So it makes it convenient for them if we have a showroom there, where they are able to view the majority of our line to make buying decisions."

Sphinx by Oriental Weavers' new showroom at High Point's International Home Furnishings Center, IHFC-G361, has 3,700 square feet. The renewed Las Vegas Market space, B580, has 6,500 square feet.

"There seems to be more optimism with customers and they are updating their showroom floors with area rugs and other accessories," Gray said. "It is important that Oriental Weavers has a presence at both markets so we can make things more convenient for all customers, and accommodate their needs to make decisions."

IMC's portfolio includes 18 buildings including the International Home Furnishings Center, Market Square Complex (consisting of eight properties), and Showplace, Showplace West and three North Hamilton Street showroom venues in High Point, as well as the World Market Center Las Vegas campus in Nevada.
