Trade Associates Group Ltd.(TAG) has rebranded its Tag Furnishings Group furniture division as "tag furniture."
When launched in 2008, the furniture line became "tag furnishings group," or "tfg," because the collection was marketed separately from tag's tabletop and home decor collections.
"We have since learned that there is a natural synergy between our furniture and our home decor products that we could expand upon and maximize," said Joe Fahy of tag, Chicago.
For example, new folding outdoor furniture coordinates with tag's extensive selection of garden decor items. And because of the durability of tag's dining tables and shelving units, several SKUs are purchased by retailers for in-store display, but also made available for sale to consumers. tag drop ships these orders so smaller stores can add them to their mix without taking up valuable inventory space. On the flip side, furniture retailers have found multiple ways to take advantage of tag's selection of basics, tabletop and decor.
"With the rebranding we're looking to further expand our dealer network," Fahy said. "We're looking for drivers, so to speak. We're adding new products and new merchandising tools, including several upcoming promotions."

Regional leaders say Gov. Bev Perdue is expected to announce Friday that Ashley Furniture Industries will open a major operation in Davie County, another sign of the industry's continued comeback in the Piedmont Triad.
The announcement will be made in High Point before the spring furniture market, which starts on Saturday.
Details about what has been code-named Project Top Drawer remained sketchy Wednesday, but one source expects the operation will include both manufacturing and distribution.
