Rhino Trunk & Case will make its furniture retail trade debut at the upcoming High Point Furniture Market.
Based in Rochester, N.Y., Rhino Trunk & Case makes and sells trunks, primarily through its distributor network of retailers to the camp and college markets. It also designs and manufactures trunks for the point of purchase and promotional products industries. Many of its products are used for storage and displays in retail environments.
In High Point, Rhino will launch a new line of wardrobe trunks in Suites at Market Square, space 1-618. The Rhino Wardrobe Trunk is a unique, traditional-looking trunk that beautifully conceals a fully functioning, compact dresser and closet. Four different styles of trunks will debut in High Point.
Weve been fortunate to work on unique display and wardrobe-like projects for companies such as Bumble & Bumble, Brooks Brothers, and Ralph Lauren and felt that a wardrobe-trunk offering would be a great entry into the market, said Eric Vangellow, Rhino Trunk & Case president.
Many of the existing trunk-style furniture offerings, including Timothy Oultens Mayfair Steamer Trunk Collection at Restoration Hardware, are made overseas. Rhino Trunk is looking to leverage its New York State manufacturing capabilities and offer designers and independent retailers pre-designed and COM wardrobe options with a six-to-eight week delivery. In addition, they will look to craft unique designs exclusively for larger retailers.
The wardrobe trunk measures 26-inches square when closed and is 47-inches tall. When open, it offers five full extension drawers on one side and an extendable hanging bar on the other. It is lockable and has a tongue and grove metal trim seal makes it relatively airtight.
Available in a wide array of finishes and colors, the wardrobe trunk stands on six casters to provide smooth mobility. It is the epitome of high quality, efficiency and space conservation. The hanging bar accommodates at least 2 suits and 6 shirts on the hanging bar; and the drawers hold more than 10 pairs of jeans, 26 shirts, 6 sweaters and enough underwear to keep you away from the cleaners for at least two weeks.
All of the trunks we make at Rhino are made in America with the absolutely highest quality materials," Vangellow said. "Our strong, handcrafted construction combines both old world trunk making skills, with CNC production and aviation rivet technology."

IMAX Worldwide Home is updating its ColorPost with Connie concept at the upcoming High Point Furniture Market.
This program now merges two trend-forward colors into one dynamic presentation for each collection, and the collections have been streamlined into a smaller commitment for the retailer.
The updated program is price sensitive on individual components, and all elements of a collection work together to decorate a room perfectly. All minimum quantities are shown on the individual pods. Each pod has been merchandised to hit a strategic price point of around $1000.
Each of the color stories combines glass, ceramics, textiles, florals and wall décor in a way that makes both the salesperson and the customer smart, Connie Post said. The collections are a fresh, fashionable store update and customers can create instant room updates, feeling confident knowing that each color story is chosen and color-coordinated for them by a design expert.
For dealers who have already invested in the original ColorPost program, existing banners and table displays can simply be updated with the new 2013 merchandise.
This is an easy choice for any retailer, Post said. We continue to make it easier for retailers to sell IMAX, helping them push beyond the sale of single items into the selling of concepts and entire coordinated collections.
Connie Post will be appearing in IMAXs High Point showroom to promote the updated ColorPost program on Oct. 15 and 16, 3-6 p.m.
