Mattress industry veteran Jim Puhnaty has joined luxury mattress brand Pure LatexBliss to lead sales in the companys northeast division.
Puhnaty most recently served as a key account manager at Park Place Corp. Before that, he was with International Bedding Corp. for eight years, where he worked his way up from account executive to key account manager. Puhnaty also is credited for implementing successful training programs, sales and marketing initiatives and customer relations development. Prior to IBC, he served as a district manager for Mattressland and general sales manager at Mattress & Carpet Outlet.

"Jims sales and managerial skills are extremely impressive and he will be a great asset to the company. He is a proven leader with a long history of sales success. Puhnaty received his bachelors in Business Administration at Waynesburg College in Pennsylvania. He currently resides in Germantown, Md., with his wife and three children.

Accent furniture vendor Stein World will debut in a new showroom at the January Atlanta International Gift & Home Furnishings Market.
The 5,800-square-foot permanent showroom is on the 11th floor of Building 1 in spaces A8-A10 of AmericasMart Atlanta and will be used to display the companys accent furniture, mirrors, chairs, lighting, occasional tables, vanity sinks, media consoles and casual dining sets.
Were very excited to become a part of the Atlanta furniture market, said Jack Johnson, senior vice president of sales and marketing for Memphis, Tenn.-based Stein World. We think its an important event and we have a strong customer base that attends this marketso its a great fit for us.

Specialty mattress maker Zedbed will open a permanent World Market Center showroom for the Jan. 28-Feb. 1 Las Vegas Furniture Market.
Zedbed will be in space 1556 of Building C, located amongst other mattress manufacturers and the Speciality Sleep Association. The Canadian-based company produces a range of eco-friendly therapeutic memory foam mattresses. Zedbed, one of the few specialty mattress manufacturers to pour its own foam in North America, wants to become a national player throughout its home country and a recognized name in the United States.
"The opening of this new showroom is one of several initiatives through which we continue our methodical growth in North-America," said Marketing Vice President David Gelinas. "We are pursuing independent furniture retailers; top 100 retailers, small- to medium-size bedding chains and independent sleep shops, in both countries, which are looking for products exclusivities and an alternative to compete with the big guys."
The new showroom will showcase the entire Zedbed product line, which includes mattresses, lifestyle adjustable beds, headboards, pillows and protectors.

Art Van is slated to come to Mount Pleasant, Mich., after Wendels Furniture store closes its doors at the end of the year.
After 40 years of business, Wendels Home and Design, 5260 E. Pickard St., founded by Wendel Lee in 1972, has pasted yellow signs with black text on its doors, announcing it will be going out of business. However, the space will not go vacant, as it will be transitioning into an Art Van Furniture store at the beginning of 2013.
