Thomasville Furniture and Drexel Heritage Furniture are returning to the Las Vegas Furniture Market for Jan. 28-Feb. 1 winter show.
The two companies, both part of Furniture Brands International, will show together in a 12,000-square-foot showroom, space B-570 of World Market Center Las Vegas. The companies will split the space, showing their latest collections of case goods and upholstery in two adjacent areas of about 5,000 to 6,000 square feet each. This is their first showing in Las Vegas since 2011.
We need to be where our customers are, so having a strong presence at the Las Vegas Market is an important part of our business strategy, said Ed Teplitz, president of Thomasville and Drexel Heritage, both based in Thomasville, N.C. The Las Vegas Markets team worked hard to find us the right spot so that were in a prominent position, easy for our retailers to access and near other major exhibitors.
Teplitz added that he and his teams are looking forward to meeting with our retailers in the West and other regions and sharing the great progress weve made to make both our brands more relevant for todays consumers. It will be a great chance to discuss our new programs and plans for growing our business together.
In Las Vegas, Thomasville will feature several whole-home collections of case goods, occasional and upholstery introduced at the October High Point Furniture Market, including Banyon Bay, a refined casual contemporary collection with mixed media elements such as crushed bamboo and woven raffia, simple silhouettes and refined detailing; American Anthem, a new American Craftsman-style collection in maple with metal and leather accents inspired by the Arts and Crafts movement; and Manuscript, a bedroom and upholstery collection of black-and-white designs accented with polished nickel hardware and bold finishes.
Drexel Heritage will spotlight Viage, a collection of more than 40 globally influenced designs. In case goods, Viages features include layered moldings, intricate joinery, hand-accented veneer patterns and metal star details. The collections textiles are inspired by three distinct lifestyles: Mountain Lodge, featuring outdoor themes; West Coast, a casual, relaxed clean look; and European, with an acquired feel.
The addition of Thomasville and Drexel Heritage adds two powerful brands to our roster of exhibitors, said Craig Staack, vice president of home furnishings leasing for International Market Centers. They provide another big reason why Las Vegas is a must visit destination for leading home furnishings retailers looking to strengthen their product assortments.

IMAX Worldwide Home will unveil a new color-driven merchandising concept, Essentials by Connie, at the winter furniture markets.
Designed to excite consumers with powerful punches of vibrant, livable color and translate to bigger tickets for retailers, Essentials by Connie is the second major merchandising concept IMAX Worldwide Home has launched with home furnishings retail strategist Connie Post. The first, ColorPOST with Connie, incorporated a selection of IMAX products divided by color story into a series of decorative accessory pods. Merchandised on flexible, movable display units, the pods were created to simplify the buying process for consumers and to make updating store floors quick and easy for retailers. According to Al Bulak, president of IMAX Worldwide Home, the concept was a hit at retail and dealers are clamoring for the next phase.
Post describes Essentials by Connie as: Modern design made easy. Offering powerful color elements for every room in the house, Essentials provides all the basic elements needed to make any showroom look up-to-the minute, including modern mirrors, lamps, pillows, decorative accents and florals.
The first of two complete collections to be introduced in 2013 centers on four bright color choices--orange, yellow, blue and green--and will be displayed en masse for a clean and colorful presentation designed to grab shoppers attention and create excitement," Post said. "Like a B-12 shot for merchandising, Essentials was created to add energy to existing room settings and drive business through the winter months straight into Spring/Summer 2013.
Tangerine has proven to be a winner with consumers who love to dress and decorate with vibrant, orange color. People are constantly telling me how much they love the color orange. It just makes people feel good and its here to stay. Yellow is another feel-good color that is like bringing the sunshine in. It blends with almost every other color in the rainbow and is an easy add to existing rooms for those who need a shot of joy in their lives. Turquoise blue, meanwhile, is like a pleasant river running through a room. Its tranquil, calm and serene. Like yellow its easy to decorate with, as well as elegant to the eye. And shades of green, from emeraldPantones new color of the year for 2013--to new leaves, will ground you and allow you to breathe easier. Lush and stimulating, green is simply as easy to live with as fresh grass. "
As with ColorPOST, the products in each of the Essentials by Connie collections have been coordinated with Sherwin-Williams paints to make it easy for consumers to complete a room.
