Furniture retailer Burlington Furniture Co. has scored with its "Harlem Shake" video.
The store posted the 30-second spot on YouTube last Thursday, and the video had more views in 12 hours than the retailer's first full year on Facebook, according to Mark Binkhorst, president of Burlington Furniture Co., Burlington, Vt.
"It was a great team building experience and fun to let loose," he said. "It will be airing on our local TV station as well. We believe it shows our confidence in our vision and that we enjoy what we do.
"Hopefully that will also translate into additional sales and connect us with our Generation and X, Y and Z customers."

Celebrity cookbook author, magazine publisher and restaurant owner Paula Deen will host "Paula Deens Great Party Challenge" at High Point Furniture Market.
The event, Sunday, April 21, at 3 p.m. in the High Point Theatre, is sponsored by the High Point Market Authority with Universal Furniture.
When planning an event, whether at home or a catered affair, the table is not fully decorated without a stunning centerpiece. Satisfying both the eyes and appetite, edible centerpieces have grown in popularity and combine both taste and style to create unique arrangements that add color and a touch of whimsy. In a combination of culinary skills and imagination, the possibilities are endless.
Based on the Spring Market theme of Inspiration, five teams of local culinary students will design and prepare edible centerpieces inspired by one of five family parties: a childs birthday, graduation, 4th of July, Thanksgiving and New Years Eve. Students have been selected for their creativity and ability to create under pressure. Students will have a limited amount of time to assemble a centerpiece, which is 24 or more inches high.
When I invite people into my home, I love to have a centerpiece that pulls the party together and creates a focal point, said Deen. I cant wait to see what these talented students come up with. Whatll make this even more exciting is that they have under an hour to pull it off.
At the conclusion of the challenge, 50 buyers in the audience will have the opportunity to meet Deen. Everyone who attends will receive a copy of the May issue of Cooking with Paula Deen.
We are excited about having Paula Deen officiate over this type of event at the High Point Market, said Cheminne Taylor-Smith, vice president of marketing for the Market Authority. Creative cooking competitions are popular all over the country, so its wonderful to have one here in High Point. Its a great opportunity for local culinary students to show off their talents and be able to receive Paulas unique brand of feedback. And it offers buyers a fun, entertaining event during Market.
Paula brings such energy into all that she does, said Jeff Scheffer, president and CEO of Universal Furniture International Inc. Along with the launch of Paulas new River House Collection this spring, we want to showcase her love of cooking and encouraging young chefs with her knowledge and sense of showmanship.
