Stanley Furniture Company Inc. (NASDAQ: STLY), Stanleytown, Va., announced a restructuring of operations management Wednesday, naming Bob Harold to the new position of vice president of domestic operations; and promoting Larry Hagwood to operations manager for both the Stanleytown and Martinsville, Va., facilities.
The moves are part of a restructuring after Stanley's
decision to source most adult furniture overseas.
Previously, Harold was responsible for operations in the company's two Virginia facilities. He now is accountable for all domestic operations including the Robbinsville, N.C. facility--where the vast majority of the company's Young America product line is manufactured--as well as all domestic purchasing efforts.
"With the company's restructuring underway, we need one person tying together all domestic efforts," said Glenn Prillaman, Stanley Furniture's President & CEO. "Without a doubt, Bob Harold is the man for the job."
Before joining
Stanley Furniture last November, Harold's 25-plus year industry career includes stints at American of Martinsville and
Hooker Furniture, where he had ultimate responsibility over Hooker's Roanoke facility.
In addition, company veteran Larry Hagwood will assume new responsibilities in the company's restructuring plan. After joining Stanley Furnitureʼs marketing department in 1972, Hagwood's role included working with showroom and photography samples. Over the past 38 years, Larry has held various positions of increasing responsibility including scheduling, engineering, sample production and manufacturing support. In October of 2008, Larry was promoted to his most recent position as manufacturing support manager.
In his new role, Larry will work opposite Sam Grimes, vice president of operations-Robbinsville, heading up operations for the company's Stanleytown and Martinsville facilities.
"Anyone who has ever had the pleasure of working with Larry recognizes his overwhelmingly infectious 'can do' attitude," said Prillaman. "Larry is the right person at the right time for our Stanleytown and Martinsville facilities, and he is an excellent complement to Sam in Robbinsville."
Both Hagwood and Grimes, as well as Domestic Purchasing Manager Peggy Krebser, will report to Bob Harold. Bob will continue to report to Glenn Prillaman.

Mattress manufacturer Anatomic Global, Corona, Calif., has more than doubled its production facility and increased its work force by 30 percent to keep up with demand.
The company is adding 140,000 square feet of manufacturing space at plant for a total of 240,000 square feet. The expansion will occur in phases and is expect to be completed by the end of the year. At that time, Anatomic will operate one of the largest mattress manufacturing and distribution centers in California. The company also will add 30 new production jobs, bringing its total workforce to nearly 130.
A dramatic, 86 percent increase in sales over the past seven months from Anatomic Global's proprietary, environment-friendly, plant-based EcoMemoryFoam Pure7 Series line is driving the expansion. During that time, Anatomic Global opened several major retail chains including Linders Furniture, Beck's Furniture and Mattress King; and continued to expand its presence with national retailer Relax The Back; Back to Bed, the leading sleep shop retailer in Chicago; and The Bed Store, serving the St. Louis market.
"This has been a very exciting time of growth for our company," said Anatomic Global President Jeff Scorziell. "Consumer demand for our products are at an all time high and we are seeing new retail relationships blossom on a regular basis. We believe that the additional manufacturing space and staff will enable us to continue our growth trajectory for many years to come."
In 2008, Anatomic Global applied its medical manufacturing expertise and launched the Ecomfort Mattress brand featuring its signature, exclusive EcoMemoryFoam extreme open-cell plant-based memory foam.
