(DPI), indicated that interior designers can spend up to ten hours a week, or 500 hours a year in their cars as they shuttle back and forth from their offices to job sites, design showrooms, customers’ homes, and the usual errands that most adults, and all parents have.

Floor covering and home accents manufacturer Nourison highlighted the Prismatic area rug and Manhattan broadloom carpet collections at the Architectural Digest Design Show at New York City last week. The vibrant colors and 3D-like designs of the Prismatic rugs captured the attention of interior designers, who made up the majority of attendees visiting Nourison’s booth.

Consumers prefer sustainable – yet tech-friendly – design elements for their outdoor living spaces, according to the 2017 Residential Landscape Architecture Trends Survey conducted by the American Society of Landscape Architects (ASLA). For the first time, wireless/internet connectivity entered the top ten project types, suggesting that people want a backyard that allows them to enjoy both nature and connectivity.
