Campion Platt, Sleep Studio Team up for Holiday House Room

Interior designer Campion Platt  and Soho retailer Sleep Studio  are collaborating on the Suite Dreams master bedroom for the 2013 sixth annual Holiday House benefitting the Breast Cancer Research Foundation

The master bedroom is located on the third floor of Holiday House  in the Academy Mansion at 2 East 63rd Street in Manhattan.

Platt envisioned his Sleep Studio room awash in warm earthy tones, and he enhanced the original classical detailing of the existing room by contrasting it with curvilinear modern forms. Fabrics from Calvin Klein and Donghia spin a warm cocoon to help "Awaken, Refresh, Relax and Dream" which form the founding principles of the Sleep Studio.

The highly detailed Giorgetti furniture adds a crisp, masculine and luxurious detail to the room, while the feminine feather light pendants contrasts and soften.

"I have always wanted to design the master bedroom at Holiday House, as it is traditionally one of the most important rooms in a home," Platt said. "This year I was happy to collaborate with Sleep Studio for a number of reasons. In addition to their luxurious products, I really believe in their philosophy of, "Awaken, Refresh, Relax, Dream," because sleep is the most undervalued asset in our fast paced world. Designing around the concept of beautiful sleep will become more important as we all begin to more fully understand its profound effect on every aspect of our lives. The creative approach of Sleep Studio aligns with my already strong desire to create the home as an oasis, a place to nurture and comfort oneself. I approached the "Suite Dreams" room in collaboration with Sleep Studio as a study in repose—how to slow down, reflect and reinvent."

"In thinking about a designer to partner with for Holiday House, Campion Platt immediately came to mind," says Sleep Studio founder Michael Rothbard. "His design philosophy and sensibility has a very serene and calming feel to it. We wanted to convey Sleep Studio's core values, "Awaken, Refresh, Relax, Dream," by incorporating all the senses: touch, through the use of sumptuous fabrics and textures; sight, with a soothing color palette; smell, by incorporating subtle aromatherapy and, lastly, calming music and sounds for the perfect background. Our goal was to bring the peaceful, refreshing experience of Sleep Studio's Soho store uptown for Holiday House visitors to enjoy."

Holiday House Design Show was founded six years ago by Iris Dankner to raise breast cancer awareness in the design industry. Iris is a 16-year breast cancer survivor, and has made it her mission to raise funds for breast cancer research and women who need help fighting this disease.

Since its inception in 2008, Holiday House has featured the top interior designers in the industry, received critical acclaim, been endorsed by some of the most celebrated global luxury brands, and expanded to a summer showhouse in the Hamptons. Holiday House is about the celebration of life, with each designer selecting a holiday or a special moment in life as an inspiration for their design.
