Bernie & Phyl's, Coldwell Banker to Collect Toys for Children

Boston-area retailer Bernie & Phyl’s Furniture and Coldwell Banker Residential Brokerage are partnering with The Home for Little Wanderers this holiday season to collect toys for the Big Wishes Gift Drive.

Big Wishes is one of the Boston area’s oldest and largest toy drives, supporting some of the state’s most vulnerable children and families who are served by The Home’s programs across Boston and Eastern Massachusetts. People who are interested in donating new, unwrapped toys, games, and/or gift cards can drop the items off Nov. 29-Dec. 16 at any of Bernie & Phyl’s Massachusetts stores, located in Braintree, Hyannis, Natick, Raynham, Saugus, and Westboro; or at participating Coldwell Banker Residential Brokerage offices.

The Home needs gifts for children ranging in age from birth to 22, with an urgent need for gifts for the 14-year-old to 18-year-old teenagers in their care. Teenagers are frequently overlooked during the holiday giving season.

To help meet the challenge of providing suitable holiday gifts for the teens that The Home serves, Bernie & Phyl’s is providing up to $2,500 in matching funds for all gift cards that are donated during the gift drive.   Some suggested places for purchasing gift cards are music stores and clothing outlets such as CVS, Old Navy, Marshalls, Stop & Shop, Target, T.J. Maxx and Walmart.

“The Home, which touches the lives of more than 7,000 children and families each year, relies on the generous support of the community,” said Larry Rubin of Bernie & Phyl’s Furniture. “We are encouraging our friends and neighbors to join with us in making the holidays special and memorable for these kids.”
