ASFD Executive Director Retires

Long-time executive director of the American Society of Furniture Designers  Christine Evans has retired, and the organization has changed its leadership.

Richard Schroeder, vice president of design for Stanley Furniture, has been named president of ASFD.  He succeeds John Conrad, retired executive from Powell Co., at the ASFD helm. Conrad transitions transitions from the president of the non-profit to the organization's executive director following Evans' retirement.

“We would like to extend sincere thanks and congratulations to Christine for her many years of dedicated service with our best wishes for continued success in all future endeavors," Schroeder said.

Dudley Moore Jr. of Otto and Moore continues in his role as chairman of the group and notes.

“John and Rick will ably lead ASFD as we move forward with an ambitious agenda which focuses on growing our membership, increasing member benefits, introducing new scholarship initiatives and continuing to advocate for design and designers," he said.
