Hill's retirement date also marks his 30th anniversary with Wynwood, a Louisville, Ky.-based DMI/Flexsteel company. Hill joined DMI in 1984 and held various positions during his tenure including vice president of finance & CFO, and executive vice president of operations. Hill resides in Louisville where he will continue to live after retirement.
“I have been very fortunate over the last 30 years at Wynwood/DMI/Flexsteel to have had the privilege to be on a team of such bright and resourceful people of such high character," Hill said. "My retail furniture sales experience at Heleringer’s in Louisville while in graduate school back in the 70’s gave me the passion for the business. I will forever cherish the friendships forged with fellow employees and sales reps, customers, and U.S. and Asian suppliers. The leadership I have worked under has been nothing short of outstanding. I would like to thank all of you for your kindness and consideration during our time together.”
“Joe excelled in every executive role he assumed at DMI and we thank him for his leadership, dedication, and partnership," said DMI President and CEO Donald Dreher. “We also wish Joe and his family all the best in his well-deserved retirement.”

Kennedy was most recently President of major Washington, D.C.-area furniture retailer Belfort Furniture, Dulles, Va. His primary focus will be growing the Wynwood business, and providing the level of service for Wynwood that customers have grown to expect from Flexsteel.
With 25 years of furniture industry experience, Kennedy brings a wealth of home furnishings industry knowledge and a keen understanding of the needs of today’s furniture retailer and the furniture consumer.
