Kingsdown Has New Licensee for Malaysia and Singapore

Bedding vendor Kingsdown has launched a new partnership with Malaysian bedding producer Far East Foam Industries to manufacture and market several Kingsdown lines in Malaysia and Singapore.
Those signature lines include the Tradition, Select and Passions collections.
“We are excited for our partnership with Far East Foam, because we’re confident that this is the right licensee to represent Kingsdown. They’ve been a strong player in the sleep space for more than 40 years and truly understand the research, science and quality construction behind our products and how it sets us apart from the competition,” said Kingsdown President and CEO Frank Hood. “With the accelerated growth of the middle class in South East Asia, as well as the increasing importance being placed on health, wellness and quality sleep, we know it’s the right time to build a strong presence there.”
Far East Foam has manufactured sleep products for sale domestically and abroad since 1971. The company has four core brands, featuring both foam and spring mattress lines. With the new partnership, the company will make Kingsdown product at its state-of-the-art facility in Malaysia starting in mid-2014. Until then, product will be manufactured by Kingsdown, Mebane, N.C., in the United States and exported.
As the program launches, product will be sold at two new stand-alone Kingsdown branded stores--one each in Malaysia and Singapore. The mattress collections will also be rolled out at Far East Foam’s 10 branded stores. The company will further promote the partnership at local and regional furniture expos.
