The two companies signed a licensing agreement that is effective immediately. The collection will debut in Atlanta Jan. 9-12 at the winter markets.
“For 20 years Tommy Bahama has invited everyone to enjoy the island-inspired lifestyle, said Doug Wood, president and COO of Tommy Bahama. "We are proud to partner with Oriental Weavers, one of the most exclusive indoor and outdoor area rug companies in the world. Their long standing commitment to using high quality materials along with their unique and eclectic coastal design elements makes their collections a great fit for our brand.”
The Tommy Bahama Home rug collections will include rugs made of wool, jute and other fibers and they will range in sizes 2’x3’ to 10’x14’. Styles will vary from traditional to botanical and coastal inspired designs. The rugs will be produced at Oriental Weavers facilities in the U.S., India and Egypt.
“We are thrilled to have the exclusive area rug partnership with Tommy Bahama, one of the most sought after and respected consumer brands in today’s marketplace,” said Jonathan Witt, vice president of Oriental Weavers. “As the largest manufacturer of outdoor rugs, it was obvious for us to partner with the popular lifestyle brand. Of course we have tremendous plans for the indoor line as well which includes multiple constructions and special styles, including natural fiber hand-knotted selections. Tommy Bahama’s consumer brand recognition coupled with our unparalleled rug design and manufacturing capabilities is sure to be a home run for our retail partners. We expect a long and successful partnership with Tommy Bahama and are excited to debut the extensive line at the markets in January.”
The Tommy Bahama Home collection will be available to consumers through specialty flooring and furniture stores as well as select catalogs in Spring 2014.
