2013 by in Industry, Special Events
He will present on Friday, Jan. 17 at noon, on the first floor of the World Trade Center in Dallas. O’Brien is based in Manhattan and is the proprietor of Aero Ltd., the influential SoHo home boutique and retail extension of Aero Studios, one of America’s leading design firms, with O’Brien as founder and president. He will discuss his design philosophy and new book, "Aero: Beginning to Now," which celebrates 20 years of his design studio and boutique in an album of specially-collected images and reminiscences. The book is an intimate recounting of O’Brien’s evolution from young art student to successful designer, merchant and tastemaker.
Since opening Aero’s doors in 1992, O’Brien has been celebrated for his ability to translate modern design into a warm and livable style. His work is best known for its blend of vintage modern elegance and easy domesticity, along with new variations on American traditional and classical forms. A philosophy of “antique modern” design connects interiors from city residences to historic country estates and modern architectural homes, as well as ongoing work in store design.
He also authored "American Modern." His work has been featured in publications including Elle Decor, House Beautiful, Town & Country, The New York Times and Architectural Digest, among others.
