Spring Air Has New Illinois Licensee

Bedding vendor Spring Air International has signed a license agreement with SBI Mattress of Springfield, Ill., to make and market its Back Supporter and Sleep Sense bedding brands throughout the state.
Begun in 1975, SBI Mattress is a family-owned business that operates a 45,000-square-foot mattress factory and employs 37 people. To be known as Spring Air-Illinois, the company is headed by Owner and President Michele Buyan. Joshua Patridge, Buyan’s son, serves as plant manager, and son-in-law Scott Meyers is vice president of marketing and sales.
“This is the first Illinois-based Spring Air licensee to serve the state exclusively since the former Spring Air Company became Spring Air International in 2009,” said Rick Robinson," president of Spring Air, Boston, Mass. “We’re very pleased with the opportunity to centralize and increase our coverage in Illinois by adding a manufacturer that has a great reputation for quality and a business base that includes retailers who have been loyal customers for nearly 40 years.”
Spring Air-Illinois will begin producing Spring Air products in January 2014 and will be represented at the upcoming Las Vegas Market.
The Spring Air organization now includes 13 manufacturing facilities across North America and operates in 33 other countries.
