Uwharrie Chair, Artist William Mangum Team for Outdoor License

The new collection, "Carolina Preserves," takes its name and inspiration from a book Mangum published in 2000 that is a colorful tribute to North Carolina, comprising 48 stories by North Carolinia artists and 130 of Mangum's prints.

"Since the beginning of my career, I was struck by how quickly many of the images I chose to paint were lost to progress," said Mangum. "'Carolina Preserves' was created to celebrate life and preserve the ever-changing landscapes and city streets of North Carolina."

With this inspiration in mind, Mangum's new collection for Uwharrie Chair focuses on comfort and function.

"We're excited to collaborate with Mangum, a North Carolina artist who celebrates this beautiful state through art, print, video and now for the first time outdoor furniture," said Rebecca Ly, president of Uwharrie Chair Co., which is celebrating its 20th anniversary.

The Carolina Preserves Collection consists of a mix of pieces including lounge chairs, benches, ottomans, side tables and dining. There are more than 28 unique finishes, such as Mint Green, Tractor Red and Robin's Egg Blue. The line is available in pressure-treated pine or premium Uwharrie polymer both perfect for the outdoors with a lifetime guarantee.

Uwharrie Chair will show the Carolina Preserves Collection at the Oct. 19-24 High Point Furniture Market in IHFC-M128.
