Istanbul Sets Furniture Trade Show for May

The show in Istanbul, a cosmopolitan metropolis poised on two continents at the crossroads of the eastern and western commerce, will welcome visitors from 18 nearby emerging markets; and offer opportunities for international furniture exporters to promote their products to Turkey’s domestic market, as well as test the waters in potential markets that maintain trade-friendly relationships with Turkey.

These countries include Dubai, UAE, Saudi Arabia, Israel, Egypt, Iraq, Iran, Bulgaria, Libya, Romania, Serbia, Russia, Ukraine, Georgia, Greece, Kazakstan, Turkmenistan, as well as Germany and other European countries. Most of the buyers come from countries lacking their own manufacturing resources. Due to the supply and demand imbalance, these buyers hold enormous purchasing power and are hungry for quality product.

FURNistanbul, slated for the world-class Tuyap Convention and Congress Center, features 1,060,000 square feet of exhibition space in 12 halls, with 650,000 square feet allocated to furniture. Tuyap Center hosts 14,000 exhibitors annually from almost 60 counties, plus 2 million visitors from 70 countries. Product categories spotlighted at the show will include Residential Furniture, Office and Contract, Bedding, Home Accents, Lighting and Kitchen.

Turkey has no complicated visa procedures; and convenient, relatively inexpensive travel and hotel accommodations. A special discount on exhibition space is available with reservations made by Oct. 20.
