Darrell Turner has been named president and COO of Leigh Fibers, succeeding Keith Taylor in the position.
Taylor, who has been with the company 37 years, will continue to consult with the company and will transition to its board of directors.
Turner has spent 25 years in the energy, waste and recycled materials industries. Prior to joining Leigh, Turner was vice president and general manager of the energy services division of Headwaters. Before that he was president of Eagle North American, an environmental services firm, and held management positions with Waste Management, Inc., including technical director of the Clemson Technical Center.
“Under Keith’s leadership, Leigh Fibers has been an innovator in fiber and textile reprocessing and a pioneer in repurposing materials that would otherwise have been landfilled,” Turner said. “I see tremendous opportunities ahead, and I think we’re uniquely positioned to capitalize on them.”
“Darrell’s enthusiasm and his experience in developing new products that utilize waste products will be great assets as we write the next chapter of the Leigh Fibers story, as will his success in global business development, especially in China and South America,” Taylor said.
