Rothman Furniture CEO Seat Passes to New Generation

Jay Steinback will take over as CEO of Rothman Furniture, as his father and longtime leader, Dale Steinback, lessens his role in the 86-year-old company.
Dale Steinback, 62, has been CEO since 1989. Milton Rothman, Dale Steinback’s father-in-law, founded the company in 1927 with his brothers.
Rothman has seven St. Louis-area locations, including six furniture stores and one mattress-only location.
The transition comes as the company eyes expansion and embraces technological change.
Rothman has signed leases for two new mattress-only locations, one off Hanley Road and another in Chesterfield, and has plans for three more.
