Earlier this year, Chris Min and Ryan Scarpelli co-founded the Chicago-based online furniture brand based on their belief that high quality, casual contemporary furniture can come at an affordable price.
“We’re thrilled that we have the opportunity to be able to offer a selection that is a cross section of what has inspired us as Chicagoans," Min said. "We call the style casual contemporary. It's the classics with a contemporary feel.
“It’s current, cool, and comfortable," Scarpelli added. "It can be formal or informal depending on your lifestyle.”
The brand also gives customers the opportunity to experience new styles that haven’t yet been introduced to the U.S. market.
“The factories we produce and source Waveland & Clark from are the same manufacturers that develop product for the biggest retailers and design contractors in the U.S.." Scarpelli said. "The opportunity to sell exclusively through our Web site, completely eliminates the middleman and passes all savings directly to the customer.”
Scarpelli and Min both have experience in the furniture industry. Scarpelli has 10 years of experience at two different importers. Previously, Min was a buyer for an e-commerce retailer and also has worked for two furniture importers.
