Scott Perry has been named director of online marketing for San Diego-based Jerome's Furniture, a new position for the retailer.
As the owner and president of EverythingFurniture.com, launched in 2001 and recently sold, Perry has a proven track record of success. INC Magazine named his company No. 46 on the Top 500 Fastest Growing Companies List based on a 3-year growth rate of 1,204%.
“Scott has an invaluable 18 years of experience in the online marketing of furniture. That level of expertise is rarely found in our industry,” said Lee Goodman CEO and president of Jerome’s Furniture. “Back in 1995 most people were still saying no one would ever buy furniture off the Internet. It’ll never work. Scott went out and made it work. That’s the kind of guy we like on our team. To have such an expert, in-house and focused on this channel has us all very excited about the opportunity.”
In his new position, Perry is responsible for all things digital. Key focus will be placed on strategy, e-commerce, merchandising, the consumer experience and data analysis.
“The ability to have the resources, credibility, and brand of Jerome’s to serve as the backbone of an e-commerce platform is a dream come true," Perry said. “It’s a combination that simply can’t be beat."
Perry is from a furniture family and grew up sweeping floors at Riverside Furniture in Fort Smith, Ark. His father and grandfather have worked in the furniture industry as well.
