Jerome’s Furniture has promoted Megann Handley to director of merchandising, a new position at the San Diego-based retailer.
Handley joined Jerome’s in 2010 as an assistant buyer and quickly took on many additional responsibilities. In 2012, she was promoted to merchandising manager.
“Megann is a tremendous asset to both our department, and the company," said Andy Andreotti, vice president of merchandising for Jerome’s. "Her eye, her skills, and her passion all work together to create the ideal director of merchandising for Jerome’s. The impact she’s had on the company so far is immeasurable. I can’t wait to see what she does in this new position.”
As director of merchandising, Handley is responsible for the management of the buying department and merchandise plan. Key areas of focus include inventory controls, merchandising of goods, vendor relations and interdepartmental communications.
“It’s exciting to be with such a growth oriented company," Handley said. "Our upcoming expansion into the LA area, with new stores and new markets, combined with our 59-year history in San Diego, positions us well for the future. Not to mention the fact that it makes for a really nice place to come to work each day. Nothing is ever boring around here that’s for sure.”
Handley lives in Escondido with her husband, Brad, and her dogs Zeke and Sasha.
