Skandinavia Contemporary Interiors Joins CDG

The family-owned store, founded in 1971, is CDG's first member in Austin, Texas.
Skandinavia is owned and operated by Shawn and Erika Olsen, who acquired the business in 2005.
“Austin is a very hip, cosmopolitan and contemporary market,” said CDG President Howard Haimsohn. “We’re proud to work with one of the finest contemporary stores in the area.”
“We felt that CDG and it's members would offer us fresh ideas, purchasing power, strategic thinking, some added significance, plus the opportunity to build on friendships, and stay retail fresh with ideas shared across the group,” said Skandinavia owner Shawn Olsen.
The Contemporary Design Group is a national association of independent home furnishings showrooms, specializing in modern and contemporary design. Currently the performance/buying group is 39-showrooms strong with retail members in more 35 cities from coast to coast.
