Zenith Opens Indianapolis Hub

The move is part of Zenith's ongoing effort to enhance operational efficiencies and boost speed to market throughout the Midwest. The 90,000-square-foot Indianapolis facility will handle LTL freight and function as a full-service third-party logistics warehouse.
“Our new Indianapolis hub will allow for more efficient delivery of inbound product, intermodal shipments, and containers coming from California, Texas, and the Eastern seaboard since it will eliminate the need to bring freight through our North Carolina operations,” said Jack Hawn, president and CEO of Zenith Global, Conover, N.C. “With the latest hours of service changes required by the new Federal Motor Carrier Safety Administration’s Compliance, Safety, Accountability rules, it’s more critical than ever for us to invest in the most robust national hub network possible.”
The regional hub footprint keeps Zenith in compliance with CSA, while ensuring it meets customers’ delivery and receiving timetables.
“Beyond this, our customers increasingly are demanding product be as close as possible to their local channels to keep shelves stocked and to fulfill e-commerce orders--I call it a brick-and-click requirement," Hawn said. "Our new 3PL warehousing in Indianapolis means we can keep customers’ products close to their local retail channels in the Midwest. This will give them the speed to market they need with 100% traceability and 24/7 inventory visibility--both also vital to retailers dealing with shoppers both online and in stores.”
In recent years, Zenith’s has followed a long-range strategic growth plan that has included the opening of regional hubs throughout the U.S., including Atlanta, Baltimore, Dallas, San Antonio, Tupelo, Miss., and West Palm Beach, Fla. It also recently boosted its North Carolina storage and handling capacity by more than 30 percent when it acquired the former Boyles Furniture facility in Conover as its new corporate headquarters. Future expansions include facilities in Maryland and California.
