Furniture First Sets 2014 Symposium

National buying group Furniture First will host its 2014 Symposium in Fort Lauderdale May 12-14.
The theme for this event, "Waves of Change, Oceans of Opportunity," is jointly inspired by Furniture First's 20th anniversary, the location chosen for the meeting, and the current retail climate. Members will participate in peer-to-peer networking sessions, attend presentations given by industry experts, and learn from inspiring keynote speakers.
At the conclusion of events on May 14, there will be plenty of time set aside for swimming, volleyball, and socializing on the beach at this resort venue.
The group's previous Symposium, held in May 2013 in New Orleans, was their most successful Symposium to date.
"Following the success of our last Symposium, 2014 is on track to be even better," said Bill Hartman , president of Furniture First. "Increased interaction among our member retailers and vendor partners is the focus of events like the Symposium, and the programming is designed to encourage it. Our dealers come away with new insights, tools, and ideas as a result of these exchanges."
To help promote and organize the event, Furniture First will again use their Symposium microsite. The Web site, built in-house by Furniture First staff, will highlight the meeting agenda and session descriptions, provide guest speaker bios, list local restaurants and attractions, and allow members to register online.
