Leon & Lulu Gets Framed

Home furnishings retailer Leon & Lulu has purchased Lido Gallery , a framing shop and art store in business in Birmingham, Mich., for more than 35 years.

Master Framer Chris Ambler, who worked for Lido, will resume his craft inside Leon & Lulu, Clawson, Mich.

"Leon & Lulu is proud to continue the 35-year tradition of first quality, creative framing started by Diane DeCillis  at the legendary Print Gallery and the Lido Gallery,” said Mary Liz Curtin , co-owner of Leon & Lulu. "We’re always looking for new ways to meet the needs of our patrons and providing top-notch framing services within the store helps us become more of a one-stop destination for furniture, home décor and gifts. We are thrilled Chris Ambler, an award winning master framer with 25 years of experience, will be running Lido at Leon & Lulu.”

Lido at Leon & Lulu will offer full-service, in-house framing and matting services, including more than 3,000 moulding choices. Ambler personally will handle each project and offer framing solutions for every budget, from basic framing to museum quality treatments, providing the utmost in presentation and preservation. Ambler, known for his creativity and quality craftsmanship is eager to help Leon & Lulu customers tell their story. In his 25 years of work, Amber has framed just about everything imaginable, including valuable original art, hockey skates and jerseys, animal pelts, certificates, baby keepsakes, photography and more.

“I am so pleased that Lido, formerly The Print Gallery, has found a home at Leon & Lulu,” said Diane DeCillis, former owner of the Lido Gallery. “For thirty-five years our award-winning custom framing has established a large and loyal following. The ambiance and energy that Mary Liz and Stephen bring to their marvelous shop, and their many offerings, including furniture, are an excellent fit. It's gratifying that our tradition of quality framing and trusted service will live on, and I could not have asked for a more perfect venue.”
