Leggett Opens up Sleep Geek Site

Leggett & Platt's (NYSE: LEG) bedding group has redesigned its Sleep Geek Web site and relaunched as an open platform for sharing and commenting on industry related content.

The new Sleep Geek 3.0 no longer requires account registration to view the content, opening it up to anyone in the bedding industry who may want to learn more about how to connect with customers and increase their sales.

Sleep Geek offers a one-stop resource for information about the bedding industry. The site is designed for development and educating retail sales associates and retail managers on sleep and bedding in a fun manner with entertaining videos. The site features articles from contributors who are leaders in their field, technology updates relevant to the industry, and a comic strip.

The updated site includes events like Webinars, Skype interviews with industry leaders and open discussion groups. The 4,000-member site allows users to interact with each other and connect with the bedding community.

"If we, as an industry, are going to get better at selling products for the bedroom that can improve sleep quality, and therefore quality of life, then we need to learn from each other," said Mark Quinn , segment vice president of marketing. "We have purpose-built this community for that very thing. It is now much easier to navigate and features incredible new content with many ways to learn or simply be entertained. There isn't anything like this available and we are excited to share it with the industry."

The only section of Sleep Geek 3.0 that will continue to require account registration is Geek University, a free training program built to educate RSAs about the mattress industry.
