Aico donated a truckload of furniture, and American West shipped it free of charge to the storm damaged area.
"It is refreshing to work with companies like Aico and American West that offer help to those in crisis," said Tom Ogburn , senior paster of First Baptist Church of Oklahoma City. "Now that the dust is settling and people are beginning to rebuild their lives, basics like a bed or dining table become true luxuries that help give these families hope for a brighter future."
The church is affiliated with the Furniture Bank of OKC, a non-profit partnership between a number of area churches and outreach programs. This partnership invites diverse congregations and organizations to bring their unique contributions to the table. Together, the groups seek to meet needs of refugees, foster families, the working poor-and now families impacted by the recent tornadoes that swept across Central Oklahoma.
"We are touched by the work Tom and his team have done here, and proud to be a associated with such a fine organization," said Chuck Reilly , senior vice president of sales and marketing at Aico. "Our thoughts and prayers go out to the families impacted by these terrible storms, and we are humbled by their tenacity as they begin to rebuild their lives."
"We are honored and privileged to partner with Aico and help in providing furniture to our Brothers and Sisters in Oklahoma," said Joshua Brown , CEO of American West.
