At a special meeting of the Board of Directors, Fairfield unanimously elected Anne-Lindsay Beall as Chairman of the Board, marking a historic moment for the 104-year-old, family-owned furniture manufacturer. Beall becomes the first woman to hold the position since the company’s founding in 1921.
Beall succeeds her late uncle, John Beall, who led the board since 2015. A fourth-generation owner, she has been actively involved in Fairfield’s leadership since 2021, serving on its Executive Committee and helping steer strategy alongside CEO Dixon Mitchell.
“This is a new chapter for Fairfield,” Beall said. “Our company has stood the test of time because of its people — their integrity, creativity, and care. I feel a deep sense of honor and responsibility in helping lead Fairfield forward — and I intend to leave it even stronger than I found it.”
Beall’s appointment comes during a period of transformation for the company, which has reimagined its brand, refreshed its product line, and expanded its High Point showroom. Last month, Beall and Mitchell were featured on CBS Mornings, highlighting Fairfield’s enduring craftsmanship, commitment to American manufacturing, and deep North Carolina roots.
“Anne-Lindsay’s leadership combines respect for Fairfield’s legacy with a clear, forward-looking vision,” said Dixon Mitchell, CEO. “Her unanimous election reflects the unity of our board and our confidence in her leadership as we enter this next era.”
