Art Van Furniture to Help Homeless Vets
Home furnishings retailer Art Van Furniture is planning a two-week food drive to help homeless veterans in its community at two of its locations.
The store will be collecting donations of non-perishable food items, toothpaste and other essentials at its Kalamazoo and Battle Creek, Mich., locations Aug. 15-30. All items will be sorted and delivered after Labor Day to homeless veterans moving into apartments that provide housing and support services.
"Our veterans fought selflessly for our country, and as Americans, we are forever indebted to them," said Gary Van Elslander , president of Art Van Furniture. "These heroes deserve our respect and heartfelt assistance, and Art Van Furniture team members are proud to be partnering with the residents of Kalamazoo and Battle Creek to make the lives of our local veterans a little easier."
