American Furniture Warehouse Plans for 2nd Arizona Store

American Warehouse FurnitureEnglewood, Colo.-based American Furniture Warehouse has acquired an additional 41 acres in Arizona to build a second location in the state.

President Jake Jabs  plans to develop the property for its second store in Arizona. The retailer paid $9 million for the 41.25-acre tract in Glendale, Ariz.

Earlier this year, the retailer announced plans for a nearly 632,000-square-foot store and warehouse facility in Gilbert, Ariz., which is currently under construction. The Gilbert location is expected to open next month.

The Glendale location is expected to be similar in size to the Gilbert facility and will hire about 300 employees. Target opening date is mid-2014.

American Furniture Warehouse has 12 locations all located in its home state of Colorado.
