Canadian retailer Tepperman’s has announced the Grand Re-Opening of its Windsor store on March 28. Strong local demand for home furnishings and changing customer shopping expectations prompted the company’s renovation plans.
The Mayor of Windsor, Drew Dilkens and other local dignitaries, joined members of the family-owned retailer for a ribbon cutting ceremony Thursday morning.
Tepperman’s was founded in 1925 and is operated by the 3rd generation of owners, Andrew and Noah Tepperman.
“Tepperman’s is a 94-year-old family business. Throughout the years, we’ve persevered against the Depression and Recessions, a World War, and economic shocks. We rebuilt after fires and continue to learn, improve and grow every day,” said Andrew Tepperman, president.
“It’s a privilege to be part of a Canadian owned and operated family business celebrating such a milestone! As we’ve grown, we’ve never lost sight of our guiding principles and our commitment to the communities where we work and live. We will continue to innovate and inspire our valued customers to make their homes even better,” added Tepperman.
The concept of the new store design was delivered by top store designers in home furnishings industry, Martin Roberts from Martin Roberts Designs in New York. His first engagement with Tepperman’s dates back to 2016 with the development of the Kitchener store and subsequently designing the Sarnia, Chatham and the Windsor location. The new concept integrates an enhanced shopping experience, making the in-store atmosphere contemporary and stylish, and includes a refreshment area and an interactive kid’s zone.
With five large-format retail stores across Southwestern Ontario, the company is planning for another store opening scheduled for late 2019, in Ancaster, Ontario. The expansion comes after the renovations of the Windsor and Chatham locations, allowing Tepperman’s to serve a wider audience with different style preferences. Tepperman’s intends to continue this growth trajectory throughout 2019, and further.
