Overstock.com App Wins 7th MobileWebAward

The Web Marketing Association recognized the retailer’s mobile application for its many innovative features, including its augmented reality (AR) feature on both iOS and Android.

The association holds the annual MobileWebAward Competition to recognize the achievement behind the creation of today’s top mobile applications, mobile websites, and responsive websites. Judging for the award focuses on exceptional achievement in mobile development while recognizing innovation and growth within mobile applications.

“Our goal is to offer customers the full assortment and convenience of shopping on Overstock.com at the touch of their fingertips anytime they are in the mood to shop,” said Sumit Goyal, chief digital officer. “Introducing new and innovative features to our mobile apps has allowed us to lead development within the retail industry. I am proud of the recognition that our mobile apps team has earned for their hard work in building the best retail app on the market.”

Key features of the company’s award-winning app include its augmented reality experience featuring thousands of high-quality, true-to-life size 3D models, personalized product recommendations and lists, and other functions such as search, order management, and simple checkout. Each feature was designed with the customer in mind to make the shopping experience more seamless and convenient.

Holiday shoppers can utilize the shopping app on either iOS or Android to find home décor and furnishings in preparation for hosting a holiday event, or to browse the wide assortment of gifts for a loved one or friend. The ground-shipping cutoff date for customers to receive their orders by Christmas is Dec. 17. There will be expedited and overnight shipping options available for any last-minute holiday shopping needs.
