Fast Fact: 3rd Quarter Mattress Sales Up 3.5% Over 2017

Mattress industry sales totaled $4.14 billion in the third quarter, a 3.5 percent increase over the same quarter in 2017, according to preliminary estimates from Impact Consulting Services’ proprietary model.
While industry experts are still trying to get a handle on the impact of the closing of Mattress Firm stores, sales in the third quarter maintained a cyclical rise – growing 10.2 percent since the previous second quarter of this year.
The model from Impact Consulting, parent company of Home Furnishings Business, includes revised figures from 2017 that reflect revised data from the Commerce Department’s Bureau of Economic Analysis.
