Independent mattress manufacturer Blue Bell Mattress Company has named Keith Poet as operations manager for its manufacturing facility in Roseville, Michigan, expanding its management team.
Poet has nearly 20 years’ experience in production and operations management and is Six Sigma-certified bringing with him expertise in quality control, efficient manufacturing techniques and compliance.
In his new position, Poet will oversee operations at the company’s newly acquired Michigan factory. The 140,000-square-foot facility serves as the company’s gateway for its expansion into the Midwest and beyond. The factory manufactures product for the Blue Bell private label line, as well as King Koil and Natura, the company’s licensing partners.
“Keith’s wealth of operations experience will be a great benefit to us as we continue to roll out our growth strategy. His expertise in quality control and manufacturing efficiencies will help us continue to deliver quality, well-made mattresses in a timely manner,” said Mark Kolovson, CEO. “We welcome his enthusiasm and new perspective to our operation.”
Prior to joining Blue Bell, Poet spent three years as manufacturing manager for L&L Products, a parts manufacturer for automotive, aerospace and other commercial applications. The company has production facilities throughout the world. In addition, Poet was the production manager for Detroit Thermal Systems, manufacturer of climate control systems and components, for more than two years. Poet also held production management positions with Visteon, a technology company that develops electronics for automobiles.
In his new position, Poet reports to Brian Chase, chief operating officer.
A graduate of Eastern Michigan University and Madonna University, Poet lives in Michigan with his family.
