Jacobsen Promoted to Chief Admin Officer at Hooker Furniture

Anne Jacobsen has been promoted to the new position of chief administration officer at Hooker Furniture (NASDAQ: HOFT), overseeing administrative functions across the 10 operating units of the corporation.

Hooker Furniture’s portfolio of companies includes Hooker Brands, Home Meridian International (HMI), Bradington-Young, Sam Moore, Shenandoah Furniture, and H Contract.

Jacobsen joined Hooker Furniture 10 years ago as director of human resources. In her new position, she will be responsible for human resources, information technology and most administrative functions across the enterprise, according to Paul B. Toms Jr., chairman and CEO.

Additionally, she will oversee customer care for Hooker Brands and offer support to sales and merchandising. Jacobsen will report to Toms.

Jacobsen most recently served as senior vice president of administration since 2014. Prior to that, she was vice president of human resources and administration and vice president–human resources.

“During her time at the company, Anne has done a very good job as she has taken on increasing responsibility,” Toms said. “She implemented a performance management system and has helped us be more professional in the way we manage our talent. She has helped us stay ahead of the curve with benefits and healthcare plans, along with incentivizing employees towards healthy lifestyles and behaviors. Along the way, she’s made this a fun and welcoming workplace and differentiated Hooker from other employers in the area. We are fortunate to have her as one of our senior executives.”
