June 11,
2018 by Laurie Northington in Economic News, Industry
Net Foreign or International Immigration accounted for 40 percent of the population increase between 2010 and 2016. Data from the U.S. Census Bureau shows that foreign immigrants added an additional 5.8 million people over six years.
In the six-year period, 2.3 million Asians immigrated to the U.S. compared to 1.3 million White Hispanics, 1 million Whites (Non Hispanic) and 851,355 Blacks.
For furniture and home furnishings retailers, the broadening ethnic diversity of U.S. households presents unique opportunities for products that address the cultural tastes and preferences of these new residents.
