Fast Fact: Natural Increase Ratios Strengthen U.S. Diversity

Data from the U.S. Census Bureau shows the changes in population and growth in diversity between 2010 and 2016.
The Birth to Death Ratio in the U.S. (the number of births per death) totaled 1.5 during the six-year period. Younger ethnic groups, the White Hispanic and Asian populations had much higher rates of births versus deaths—5.8 and 3.4.
Totaling 78.8 percent of all deaths from 2010 to 2016, the aging White (Non Hispanic) population is expected to have a negative Natural Increase for years to come.
