Ashley HomeStore Hosts Hope to Dream Events

Ashley HomeStore recently hosted two Hope to Dream events, in Atlanta and Memphis, Tenn.

The company dedicates a portion of proceeds from every mattress sale at participating locations to the Hope to Dream program, which has donated more than 50,000 new beds to children in need since 2010.

Fifty Metro Atlanta children and their families attended an “End of the School Year” event on May 18, at the Newnan/Coweta Boys & Girls Club, located at 72 Wesley St. in Newnan, Ga.

The children participated in kickball, a water balloon toss, face painting, and more. After the activities, each child was presented with a bed set, which included a twin mattress set, pillow, sheets, and comforter, from Ashley HomeStore’s Hope to Dream Program.

"We're so glad to have partners like Ashley HomeStore that have the spirit of giving—the same spirit we try to instill in our club members,” said Lauren Odom, executive director of Newnan/Coweta and Howard Warner Boys & Girls Club. “The furniture donations will provide more comfort to our chosen club members and their families as our club staff continues to help the kids we serve get college-ready, live healthy, and become leaders."

Tarsha Terrell, Hope to Dream ambassador in the Atlanta region, said, “What a wonderful time to give a child a bed so they can get a healthy night’s sleep. Forging a partnership with the Boys & Girls Clubs of Atlanta is just so natural because we are both helping create brighter futures for our youth.”

On April 28, Ashley HomeStore and the Memphis Tigers Football Team hosted a Hope to Dream event, giving a brand-new bed set to 100 kids in the Memphis area.

Each bed set included a twin mattress set, pillow, sheets, and comforter. The receiving children were selected through Ashley HomeStore’s Hope to Dream program and local community partners in Memphis.

The event was held at the Billy J Murphy Athletic Complex, located on the University of Memphis Campus. Representatives from the Memphis Tigers as well as executives from Ashley HomeStore spoke at the event.

The event also included kids’ activities, football drills, a facility tour, photo booth, food, and giftbags for each of the children provided by Ashley HomeStore and the Memphis Tigers.

“We can have the greatest product at the best price, but if we don’t serve the guest and give back to the community that supports us, we are spiritually bankrupt as a company,” said Chad Spencer, president of the Dufresne Spencer Group, the largest licensee of Ashley HomeStores. “That’s why events like this and Hope to Dream are so important to us at Ashley HomeStore.”
