Powell Home Fashions Celebrates 50 Years

Powell was founded in 1968 by Larry Powell and has grown over the last 50 years to include top-selling items, multiple brands, overseas offices, and strong domestic distribution capability—all with the help of partnerships with customers and suppliers.

“The last 50 years have given us plenty of reasons to celebrate,” said Jim Ziozis, CEO. “Our industry has progressed over the past 50 years in all areas, including fashion, quality, and service to our consumers. Powell has played a very large role in the defining moments of the industry and we are proud to be partners with most of the biggest and best retailers in the furniture world. We are very excited about the future and we can’t wait to see what comes next.”

To honor the occasion, Powell will host a 50th Golden Anniversary Cocktail Party on Friday, April 13. The event will take place from 5-9 p.m. in their High Point showroom, located in the National Furniture Mart Building, 100 S. Main St.

The celebration will include hors d’oeuvres, cocktails, and music. All friends of Powell from the past 50 years are invited to attend. To kick-start the next 50 years, the company will offer many “golden” specials for customers to take advantage of throughout the market.
