FastFact: Mattress Industry Sales Jump 5.3% in Q4

Mattress industry sales totaled $3.69 billion in the fourth quarter, a 5.3 percent jump over the same quarter in 2016, according to preliminary estimates from Impact Consulting Services’ proprietary industry model.
Fourth-quarter sales were 12.2 percent below third-quarter figures, but the fourth quarter typically is industry’s weakest.
Full-year bedding sales were estimated at $15.42 billion in 2017, up 2.7 percent from 2016.
The model from Impact Consulting, parent company of Home Furnishings Business, includes revised figures from 2014 through 2017 that reflect revised data from the Commerce Department’s Bureau of Economic Analysis.
