Chris Henning Named to Sales, Marketing Post at Customatic

Mattress industry veteran Chris Henning has been named executive vice president of sales and marketing at Customatic Adjustable Bedz.

In the newly created position, he will focus on opening new sleep shop and furniture doors nationwide, further developing key account relationships, and assisting in the company’s branding and marketing initiatives.

“From its inception, Customatic was built on the relationships that Phil McCarty and I have with people in the industry. Chris is one of those people – he’s been our customer and friend for years,” said Phil Sherman, president of Customatic Adjustable Bedz. “His industry experiences range from working with established corporate brands to elevating new sleep technologies into household names.”

Henning has more than 30 years’ experience in the mattress industry, and most recently was president of iron furniture producer Wesley Allen.

Earlier, he was president and CEO of Dormeo Octaspring, where he was responsible for launching the brand’s retail channel in North America. During his career, he also has held senior executive positions at King Koil, Kingsdown, Tempur-Pedic and Sealy.

“This is a very exciting time for us. Part of Customatic’s strategic corporate growth plan is to continue to introduce our vast product line and innovations into the marketplace and explore new sales channels. To accomplish this goal, we are investing in an ‘all-star’ sales team to get the job done,” said Sherman.
